Make & Take Mini-Classes

Tootie the Cat by Nancy Palmer of Blackberry Bear Class/Kit Fee $25. Max. 12 Students 11am - 12 noon
Participants will have the opportunity to make a hand-knitted cat doll, completely dressed with detachable tutu. The skills learned will include blind or mattress stitch for Stockinette Stitch, sewing separate parts to the main body, stuffing and shaping the doll. Then using basic embroidery stitches, add character and definition to the doll face and paws.
Kit includes everything needed to complete Tutti the Cat, approximatley 15" tall, 9" wide. Tools are provided for use during class, but not part of the kit.
Wet Felted Bead Bracelet or Necklace by Carolyn Webb of Felt and Fiber Creations Class/Kit Fee $5. Max. 10 Students 1-2pm
Learn how to make wet felted beads with colorful roving and embellish with yarns. The technique is easy enough for children and fun for all. Make long beads, or cut them into several smaller ones. You will take away colorful felted beads on a braided leather bracelet or beads on a ribbon necklace.
Fabulous Fiber Blends from the Carder by Melanie Bothwell of Infinity Fiber Cost determined by fiber selections and a $1. per oz. carding fee On going throughout the day.
Let Melanie show you how she creates one of a kinds batts for spinning and felting. Choose your fibers and colors, then Melanie will teach you how to prepare them for carding and do a custom blend just for you. A variety of Mohair, Cormo and CA Red wool will be available. Here's a way to get just what you want for a special project!
Drop Spindle Spinning by Deborah Brunner of Deborah Brunner Fiber Arts Class/Kit Fee $20 -25. depending on spindle selection. Max. 5 Students 2-3pm
Learn the basic of hand spinning with a drop spindle, using a hand-made Whirl-a-Way Spindle and wool combed top. It's easier than you think, a portable and inexpensive way to create wonderful yarns for knitting, crochet and embellishment techniques. You will be shown how to ply your yarns and samples of things created by spindle spun fibers.
